Jackson Street Bridge + Surrounding Downtown
The Jackson Street Bridge is Atlanta's ultimate spot for capturing the city's most iconic view. With its unparalleled view of the Downtown skyline, the Jackson Street Bridge offers the perfect backdrop for a memorable photo.
Located between Cain Street NE and Highland Avenue NE, the bridge is easily accessible and, best of all, completely free to visit. It’s the spot where you can capture the “quintessential Atlanta view,” a panorama that has been immortalized in countless photographs and even featured in the first season of "The Walking Dead."
The downtown Atlanta area is brimming with vibrant and historic locations that offer a unique backdrop for photography, with spots like Underground Atlanta providing a mix of urban energy and rich history. Underground Atlanta, once a bustling hub of commerce and entertainment, still holds a certain charm with its blend of old and new, making it an intriguing place to capture the essence of the city.
However, it's important to note that while many areas in downtown remain lively and picturesque, some parts have experienced a bit of wear and tear over the years. If you're considering the downtown area for your photography session, it's a good idea to be mindful of the surroundings and plan accordingly. With a little preparation, you can still find incredible spots that showcase Atlanta’s dynamic character while ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
From the gritty textures of urban decay to the vibrant murals and historic architecture, downtown Atlanta offers a diverse range of settings for capturing the city’s spirit. Just be sure to explore and choose your locations thoughtfully to make the most of what this iconic area has to offer.
